Calculations for the self-drive option consider:

  • The distance between your starting city and Dover (if taking the ferry) or Folkestone (for the LeShuttle), and between Calais and your chosen resort.

  • Emissions based on the chosen route of channel cross:
    • LeShuttle: 2.198706 kg CO2e per passenger
    • Ferry: 6.4665 kg CO2e per passenger

  • Emissions based on car size and fuel type:
    • Small car:
      • Diesel: 0.139306 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Petrol: 0.140799 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Hybrid: 0.101499 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Battery Electric Vehicle: 0.048228 kg CO2e per kilometre
    • Medium car:
      • Diesel: 0.167156 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Petrol: 0.178189 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Hybrid: 0.109038 kg CO2e per kilometre
      • Battery Electric Vehicle: 0.052666 kg CO2e per kilometre
    • Large car:
