Zell am See Kaprun Ski Holidays

Zell am See Kaprun Ski Area Overview

The Europa Sport Region ski pass grants access to the Zell am See - Kaprun ski area in Austria, which combines the two ski resorts of Zell am See and Kaprun. The area offers a fantastic skiing experience even by Austrian high standards. There is no shortage of well-groomed snow-sure pistes in the area, which welcomes all snowsport enthusiasts from boarders to skiers. The pistes range in height between 750 metres to 3,029 metres altitude, thanks in no small part to the Kitzsteinhorn glacier which see the ski resorts in Zell am See and Kaprun open early in the season for snowboarding and skiing. The ski area originally has a combined 138 kilometres of pistes but with a link to Saalbach within the Skicircus ski area, there is a total of 350 kilometres of pistes to cover. The ski area is also home to Zell am See’s local mountain, the Schmittenhoehe and the family mountain the Maiskogel. The pistes here are well distributed with advanced skiers and confident intermediates finding a good amount of pistes on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, families with small children having the run of the manor at Maiskogel and beginners and intermediates feeling comfortable at Schmittenhoehe. The area also has up to 5 fantastic snow parks across the area and additional 230 kilometres for cross country skiing.

There is almost always guaranteed snow in the Zell am See - Kaprun ski area but also interesting is the lovely sunshine that it receives particularly on the Schmittenhoehe. There is a fantastic apres-ski scene on the lakeside promenade over at Zell am See and the quiet resort centre at Kaprun becomes alive in the evening with revellers. Zell am See Kaprun Accommodation is mostly hotels and apartments, a large number of which offer child-focused options for visiting families.
